About Lumenoir
Lumenoir is a VR video player and cinema for Meta Quest, made by Thomas Bidault, a solo developer in France. It plays your own films, from the headset, a USB drive, Plex, Jellyfin or a NAS, in a modeled movie theater, with no account and no ads. It is coming soon to the Meta Horizon Store.
Who makes it
Lumenoir is designed, built and tested by one person: Thomas Bidault, a sole trader registered in France under the trade name CC'S GLOBAL.
When you write to support, the answer comes from the developer himself.
Why Lumenoir exists
A headset is the biggest screen most of us will ever own, yet watching your own films in it often means copying, converting, signing up or putting up with ads. Lumenoir started from a simple idea: a private cinema for the films you already have, where they already are.
So the app plays files as they are, in their original picture and sound, with every audio track and subtitle, and puts them in a real auditorium rather than in empty space.
How it is tested
Lumenoir is developed and tested on Thomas's own Meta Quest 2, the only headset tested so far. Lumenoir supports Meta Quest 2, 3, 3S and Pro, and is tuned first for the Meta Quest 2 because it has the least headroom, but the Meta Quest 3, 3S and Pro have not been tested by him yet.
The guides on this site follow the same rule: they say what was tested, on what, and what does not work. If you find a mistake, write to [email protected] and the page will be corrected.

Your privacy
- No account with Lumenoir. Each source (Plex, Jellyfin, your NAS) signs in on its own, directly from the headset.
- Your sign-ins are encrypted by the headset's secure keystore and sent only to their own server.
- Your videos go nowhere: Lumenoir plays from the headset, your drive or your network, and no Lumenoir server ever sees your files.
- No ads and no tracking. After a crash, a crash report without your name or accounts is sent only if you agreed, and you can change your mind at any time.
Free and Premium
The free version plays headset files, USB drives, Plex and Jellyfin in original quality, with no ads and no watermark. Premium adds unlimited 3D and VR, the large-format auditorium, 7.1 binaural sound, ambient lighting, NAS and servers, and DVD and Blu-ray images. It is a one-time purchase: €19.99 is the indicative price in France, set by the Store in your currency. Details in Free and Premium.
